Welcome to Dumpling!

We're excited to show you how building a shopping list with us is different, and better, than using gig apps. Creating your shopping list is as easy as if you were sending a family member or friend to the store.

You can type the name of any item, attach a picture, or use our integration with Google to search millions of products online.

Let's talk details!

There are 3 ways to add new items to a shopping list. All of these ways are available from the bottom of the shopping list.

This includes writing in an item, searching popular products, and adding saved items or those from previous orders.

Let's start with Writing in an item.

You can press the "Write-in Item" button and type in the name of each item, hitting "next" to move to the next item. In just a few minutes, you can create your entire shopping list! This method is familiar to many, similar to how you might maintain your shopping list on your phone. If you're particular about a specific item, you can select a suggested image or attach your own.

The second way to add an item is to use Dumpling's built-in item search.

For most stores, this is powered by Google, showing results based on what each store publicly displays online.

You can search for an item and select from the products returned. This functionality helps you to quickly add items when you know exactly what you're looking for.

For a limited number of popular stores like Costco, Publix, and Albertson's, you have access to full product catalogs. You will see categories you can browse and search within those stores. You can also search for items within these catalogs. Results are sorted by best match and popularity.

For example, here are some popular beverages available at most Costco locations.

Notice, that for these specific stores, an estimated price is also available for each item. For most stores, we don't show item prices, and that's a good thing! You always pay the in-store price of items, as shown on the final store receipt, with no markups like the other gig apps.

At checkout, you are also presented with the estimated price of your groceries.

Remember, this is just an estimate. You will always be charged based on the actual store receipt, not the estimate!

Finally, all lists are saved so you can easily make changes and place new orders within minutes! Swipe an item to the left to save it for later, or delete it from your list.

Tap the ribbon to the right of "Write-in Item" to access your Saved Items or Recent Items to easily add them to your current list.

Now let's talk about item prices.

The final price that you pay is always based on the actual in-store grocery price. Your personal shopper will always be able to give you the final receipt! In-store prices will include sale prices, BOGOs, loyalty card savings, and even in-store coupons. As a result, the Dumpling app only shows price estimates for items or no price.

After hundreds of thousands of grocery orders placed, we know that clients are happy to save by always getting in-store prices in addition to transparent pricing about where their money actually goes.

Accessing Dumpling on the web

Everything shown above is available in the Dumpling app on Apple and Android devices. If you prefer to order from your laptop or desktop computer, Dumpling is also available on the web with all the same functionality at buy.dumpling.us.

The web is a convenient place for business users to order, as well as those less comfortable with a mobile app.

Remember the Dumpling shopping experience is different, and that's a good thing! You will enjoy having the same personal shopper each week who cares about your needs. This personalized list-building experience makes it feel like you're getting groceries with the help of family or a friend.

Happy Shopping!
